Alabama football coach Nick Saban couldn’t care less about the solar eclipse Monday

As you may have heard, there will be a total eclipse of the sun on Monday for the first time since 1979. You probably have your special glasses ready as long as you didn’t get ripped off and got the fake ones. If you miss it, there won’t be another one for another seven years across North America. NBC is reporting that over $700 million worth of productivity will be lost during the eclipse Monday across the country.

Alabama head football coach Nick Saban really couldn’t care less about the first total eclipse in 38 years and probably won’t be among that $700 million loss across the country.

In the clip, Saban said they will give the players sunglasses if they want to go out and watch it and that he plans on watching it on TV, but really couldn’t care less about it since The Weather Channel already said what it’s going to be like. He even has a house in the part of Georgia that will experience a total eclipse tomorrow. (He would have made a killing renting it out for the day)

I can’t say I’m shocked by what Saban said. He’s from the Bill Belichick school of all business all the time and learned it from the master while with the Cleveland Browns while Belichick was the head coach there. I’m all for non-football questions for Nick Saban during press conferences all season long, though.

Alabama opens their schedule with a tough matchup against Florida State on Sep. 2 in Atlanta in the new Mercedes-Benz stadium.

I’m sure the eclipse won’t have anything in there that can help stop Florida State’s offense.
