Miami – Ahmmon Richards

Ahmmon Richards is coming off an extraordinary freshman season. So good that Richards was named to the first team All-ACC wide receiver list. That’s some pretty good recognition. This year, he will have to do it with an entirely different quarterback with Brad Kayaa declaring for the NFL Draft. Richards probably isn’t too worried because the buzz around Miami right now is electric thanks to Mark Richt.

Georgia is probably regretting firing Richt who consistently won 10 games for them every single year. Richt just captured a huge recruiting class this past year for Miami as the Hurricanes may be officially back sooner rather than later. Richt has proven in the past with Georgia that he can develop talent. Richards is the latest project that he has to work with. Remember A.J. Green under Mark Richt? It’s possible he has this type of impact with the Hurricanes.

In his first collegiate season, Richards hauled in 49 catches for 934 yards and three touchdowns. Richards will catapult as the team’s top target with Stacey Coley drafted by the Vikings. The aerial attack will be the big x-factor for Miami considering the fact that a true freshman will likely get the starting nod. N’Kosi Perry appears to have the edge in the competition. Luckily for him, he gets a talented running back in Mark Walton to carry a lot of the load.
