Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather to make history

McGregor vs. Mayweather is almost here and the fight world will never be the same Taylor Swift drops hints of a new album and there was an eclipse.

It’s our 30th episode! Yayyy!

First and foremost we’d like to thank our diehards for tuning in for the past 30 episodes. For those viewing for perhaps the first time, welcome! We very much appreciate your support and viewership.

We started things off this week talking about a little fight happening this weekend, Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor. Carm and I discuss whether or not we’ll be tuning in and give our predictions.

Odell Beckham Jr. came very close to what could have been a season ending injury against the Browns earlier this week. It sparks the debate again on whether or not a player in Beckham’s position should withhold services and prevent the risk of injury.

Speaking of Giants vs Browns, players on the home team joined together to kneel and pray during the national anthem. Once again Carm and I disagree on when and where these protests should take place.

Roger Goodell is on the verge of a contract extension, with his current contract up in 2019. Carm is not on team Goodell.

I don’t know if you knew, but we experienced a total solar eclipse on Monday. Well, for everyone except us here in Chicago. Ok, that’s a lie. We know it happened, we saw the pictures, we believe you but unfortunately we were stuck in the office, with no glasses, while clouds covered the Chicago skies. Needless to say I’ve never experienced FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) like that in my life.

Taylor Swift has me on the edge of my seat this week. After wiping her social media accounts clean, she is now giving clues each day as to what her rumored upcoming album might be about. So far, we have a full image of a snake broken down into 3 separate posts. I tried explaining the possible meaning behind this to Carm, but it was a lost cause.

Among our weekly losers were Cubs fans for “booing” Miguel Montero during his return to Wrigley as a Blue Jay (Ummm hello he played an integral part in helping you win the World Series). Umpires are wearing wristbands in protest (Mmmk?) and the Indiana Pacers asked the NBA to launch an investigation into the Los Angeles Lakers over potential tampering (cool it Pacers).

It was difficult keeping the waterworks at bay this week with our weekly winners. First up was a 71-year-old competitive swimmer (wow) who voluntarily gave up his chances of winning to take a moment of silence for the victims of Barcelona ahead of his race.  Little Leaguers gave us all the feels, taught us a valuable lesson in sportsmanship and displayed an incredible act of kindness, while John Cena gets a special surprise from a number of fans he’s touched throughout his career.
