Another Premier League weekend is almost upon us. Here are five predictions for this week’s action.

The first two weeks of the Premier League have been packed full of excitement and we are hoping for more this weekend. We’ve put together five predictions for this round of fixtures in which we foresee Romelu Lukaku continuing his scoring form, Tottenham struggling at Wembley and more.

1. Romelu Lukaku continues his scoring form with a hat-trick

In one of the biggest transfers of the summer Romelu Lukaku joined Manchester United from Everton after turning down a record-breaking contract from the Toffees. So far it’s been so good for the big Belgian as he’s netted three times in his opening two Premier League matches with the Red Devils.

In this kind of form it would be foolish to bet against Lukaku scoring again this weekend, especially considering the team he’s playing in have netted eight in just two matches. We think he might surpass this though and score a hat-trick against Leicester, propelling him to the top of the Premier League scoring charts.

2. Tottenham’s Wembley struggles continue against Burnley

Last season Tottenham played their home Champions League matches at Wembley and in those games they struggled to recreate the atmosphere of White Hart Lane. This caused worry for Spurs fans as Wembley is their temporary home for the 2017-18 season.

Last week, in their first home match, they were beaten by Chelsea. Tottenham didn’t lose at home once last season and they did it in the first week this year which is causing more people to associate their results with Wembley Stadium and not the players.

This week they welcome Burnley to the national stadium and they should take all three points. However, we think Burnley could thrive on this Wembley hoodoo and hold Spurs to a draw.

3. Huddersfield maintain winning start

Huddersfield are in the Premier League for the first time and they have taken to England’s top flight like a duck to water. On the opening day they took apart Crystal Palace and last week they triumphed over fellow promoted side Newcastle.

This week they have a slightly tougher task as they welcome Southampton to the Kirklees Stadium. After two wins from two, the Terriers will have a quiet confidence about them and we fancy them to go and make it three wins out of three this weekend.

Towards the end of the season they may be struggling so right now, when they are an unknown quantity, it’s important for them to pick up as many points as possible.

4. Liverpool and Arsenal share six goal thriller

Since the start of the Premier League, Arsenal and Liverpool have been two of the league’s best teams. They’ve not won as many trophies as they both should have but they have played out some fantastic matches against each other.

Last year the Reds triumphed 4-3 over Arsenal in the opening day of the season while in the past they’ve played out some fantastic games, including a 4-4 draw at Anfield. This year both teams look strong going forward but not as efficient at the back.

This leads us to believe that we could be in for a thriller on Sunday when the two sides clash at Anfield on Sunday. We’re expecting defensive ability to go out the window pretty early and just the six goals on Sunday in a crazy 3-3 draw.

5. Manchester City score five at Bournemouth

Last season, Manchester City were relatively disappointing when many expected them to be triumphant under the guidance of Pep Guardiola. The Spanish manager has a second bite at the cherry this season and many have predicted his team to win the title.

Their first two games in the league have not demonstrated what everyone is hoping to see though. There’s been glimpses of the free-flowing attacking soccer but ultimately City have disappointed. This weekend they are away to Bournemouth who lost their opening two matches.

We are expecting City to finally let loose and hit the Cherries for five. It’s a tighter pitch at Dean Court but Manchester City have the ability and the players to score goals. Hopefully this weekend they can treat neutral fans to a goal-scoring fiesta.
