13. Paul George, Oklahoma City Thunder + Kobe & King

First, I need to pause, for just one moment, and remind everyone that it says Oklahoma City Thunder next to Paul George’s name. (This season is going to be so good.) Okay, back to dogs. Paul George, dog dad to King and Kobe, clearly has a thing for pitbulls, and I totally get it. Pits are such lovely and wonderful companions.

We’ve seen other NBA players name their pups after coaches, national titles, or generic basketball terms, but for Paul to pay homage to Mamba (who had just barely retired) via pitbull? Well, I love that. I think it shows a respect afforded to a deserving few, Kobe being one of them.

What I’ve always loved most about dogs, and what is very apparent in Paul’s relationship with his, is unconditional love. Look at these two. Dogs are so cool. And King and Paul aren’t even the cutest pair in the George household. That title belongs to his daughter and Kobe.

From friendly wrestling matches< to fruitful afternoon fishing trips, King and Kobe keep Paul occupied off the court.

Happy National Dog Day to the George’s! Hoping you’re all settled in down in Oklahoma and as excited as I am for this season.
