The Minnesota Vikings will play host to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3 preseason action inside U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday night.

The San Francisco 49ers will travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings inside beautiful U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday night. The 49ers are expected to be one of the worst teams in the NFC this season, as they are currently in a rebuilding process. They did go out and bring in Brian Hoyer to be their quarterback this past offseason, but he has struggled so far this Summer.

For the Minnesota Vikings, the 2017 season could be a special one. They come into the year with one of the best defenses in the league, and have a very exciting young player at running back. Minnesota will be without star running back Adrian Peterson for the first time in what feels like forever, but 2017 draft pick Dalvin Cook could be a candidate for Rookie of the Year.

Anytime NFC foes like this get together, it is sure to be a hard-hitting affair. The 49ers did improve their defense with their first round picks this past April, bringing in defensive lineman Solomon Thomas, and linebacker Reuben Foster, two men who should be anchors of this defense for years to come. Head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch are currently beginning six-year deals, so they should be able to turn this ship around in the next few years.

Sunday night will be the starters last chance to work on things, as they usually do not play during the Week 4 preseason game. It has been a productive preseason for Bradford, who is enjoying his first full Summer with the Vikings. If he has a good season, this Vikings team could be very good, and possibly be a Wildcard team.
