There are only three more games left and Week 3 of the preseason is in the books. Let’s analyze Sunday’s slate, and the accompanying odds, as we look to end the week by taking the bookie’s dough with these NFL Picks.

4:30 PM ET Bengals (1-1) at Redskins (0-2)

The Bengals fell to the Chiefs last week but their starting unit will avenge that loss today in Washington. Simply put, Cincinnati is looking to get Andy Dalton plenty of work and when he does relinquish the reins to the offense, seasoned backup and former Alabama QB A.J. McCarron will look to launch early and often. The Bengals defense will need to improve upon their dismal performance last week but the starters will be in the trenches much longer and should give Washington’s QB tandem of Cousins and McCoy a run for their money.

Here we have one offshore shop offering us the all-important hook I spoke about in the previous game. Yes, 5Dimes is going rogue and trying to woo money on the underdog by offering Cincinnati at +3 ½ whereas all the others are maintaining a solid three on the game. As you can see it pays to go shopping and we will back the Cats plus the points in our NFL picks today.

NFL Picks: Bengals +3 ½

Best Line Offered: at 5Dimes

8:00 PM ET 49’ers (1-1) at Vikings (1-1)

The Vikings never seem to score enough and are always grinding out the first-downs and playing not to lose as opposed to letting it all go and throwing caution to the wind. It would certainly make for a more compelling brand of football if they would loosen up but it will be to our benefit today if they maintain the status quo. During this preseason the team has averaged just 15 points per game and will now compete against a San Francisco club eager to prove to its fanbase that they are a team on the rise – which shouldn’t be difficult as they were 2-14 last season.

Even if the Niners can put a few TD’s on the board it should be enough to keep pace with a cautious Vikings’ offense. Let’s grab the points, cross our fingers, and know that a win in the preseason means more to San Francisco than to just about any other team in the league, because they won’t be getting many once the games begin for real in a few weeks.

NFL Picks: 49’ers +5 ½

Best Line Offered: at Bookmaker
