With the college football season finally here, Florida State is the team to look out for after Deshaun Watson’s departure from Clemson.

We have finally reached the first week of the college football season, and there’s a ton of big action on Saturday to look forward to. While many will look at the SEC and Big Ten as the big conferences to follow, the ACC has some serious talent to watch as well, and will be featured in the week’s biggest game on Saturday night.

Last year, Clemson helped give the ACC some airtime under the big lights when they won the national championship over Alabama, and now it’s the Seminoles’ turn to see if they can replicate their ACC rival’s magic and take down the top team in the nation.

Meanwhile, Clemson will try to catch up to the No. 3 Seminoles and rebound from the loss of star quarterback Deshaun Watson, and they’ll try to make a run and repeat as national champions in 2017.

Before the action officially gets underway this week, here’s a look at the power rankings for the ACC as we head into the beginning of the 2017 season.

Although the ACC has become one of the best conferences in the nation when it comes to college football, there’s obviously still some lackluster teams towards the bottom of the conference. As usual, the Virginia Cavaliers find themselves with that title heading into 2017.

The Cavaliers are currently in a massive rebuild at the moment, and will likely still have a year or two to go before they can make any noise in the ACC, especially with the loaded talent at the top of the conference with Florida State, Clemson and company.

Boston College Eagles 0-0

Last week: N/A
Last rank: N/A

Just like Virginia above them, the Boston College Eagles always seem to struggle in the ACC, and this 2017 season likely won’t provide much change from the path the conference always goes on towards the bottom of its talent pool.

The Eagles don’t have a lot to work with offensively, and they’ll struggle to keep up with the talented offenses that the conference has if any games turn into shootouts immediately. They did win their last three games last season, but it doesn’t look like they’ll be able to replicate that same sort of success through the entire season this year.
