3. Antoine Walker, Boston Celtics

The Celtics are the most successful franchise in league history in terms of championships. They have a storied past with more legendary players than numerous teams combined. Antoine Walker is not one of those legends. That’s not an indictment against Walker. Boston has had so many elite players in its history, that being pretty good isn’t enough; there are numerous guys that are more deserving of a spot on the All-Time Celtics team.

Walker was a solid player during his seven seasons in Boston, making three All-Star games during his tenure with the Celtics. He is also renowned for being one of the most shameless 3-point gunners ever to play in the NBA. He loved to take shots from deep, but he never quite hit them at a great rate. Walker played for the Celtics during the franchise’s nadir though and compiled good counting stats on awful teams early in his career. The Celtics won a little over 40 percent of their games while Walker played for the franchise (1997-2003). During that period Boston made the playoffs only twice, although the scrappy 2002 team did make the Eastern Conference Finals. Those were without question the darkest days of the Celtics.

Walker was a good player with some major flaws. He shouldn’t be on this team. The most obvious choice to replace Walker would be Jo Jo White, a Hall of Famer, Finals MVP and seven time All-Star.
