The first touchdown of the Lane Kiffin era at FAU was a huge one, and it also had Lane doing some Lane things

Lane Kiffin, after a brief time away to be the offensive coordinator of the Alabama Crimson Tide, is back in the head coaching game. This past offseason he landed a job as the head coach of the Florida Atlantic Owls, putting a lot of eyes on the school down in Boca Raton.

Friday night the Kiffin era officially gets underway as he and his squad have a pretty tough test in the form of the Navy Midshipmen. In the first half of this one, we got the first FAU touchdown of his tenure there and it was quite the exciting one. It was a 95-yard touchdown pass from Daniel Parr to Willie Wright. It was one of the more explosive plays so far of the opening weekend in college football.

As it turns out, though, the whole play there itself probably wasn’t the best part here. No, this play had Lane Kiffin doing some Lane Kiffin things.

We saw during his time at Alabama that Kiffin sometimes had a habit of celebrating touchdowns a little early. In the past, he’s even tossed his hands in the air right as the ball left the quarterback’s hands.

Well, he was at it again on Friday night during the above play.

You know what, there’s nothing wrong here! The man is pumped about getting back out there as a head coach and he’s even more fired up that a play like this was the first score of his tenure as the head coach of the Owls.

Never change, Lane.
