Texas A&M Aggies running back Trayveon Williams went all ‘see ya, bye’ on this magnificent 72-yard touchdown run against the listless UCLA Bruins in Week 1.

It wasn’t just a terribly executed first half by the UCLA Bruins that made this Week 1 game against the Texas A&M Aggies so lopsided. Texas A&M came out and ran that football down the Jim Mora defense of UCLA. Nobody embarrassed the UCLA defense quite like Texas A&M running back Trayveon Williams did on this run.

Williams would explode past a bewildered UCLA defense on a sweep to the left side. He would get around the edge, turn on the afterburners and find delicious pay dirt 72 yards later. That score would put the Aggies up 38-10 after the made PAT.

Williams would have 15 carries for 188 yards and two touchdowns….in the first half versus UCLA! The Bruins had a miserable 2016 NCAA season once star quarterback Josh Rosen went down with a season-ending shoulder injury. They failed to make a bowl game and were one of the worst teams in the Pac-12.

Texas A&M was one of the first four teams in the initial College Football Playoff rankings in 2016. A rough end to the season had head coach Kevin Sumlin on the hot seat. No, seriously. His athletic director put him on it after that meeting of athletic directors down in Destin.

It doesn’t matter, because something has clearly lit a fire in the Aggies in this first half against UCLA. The two teams needed overtime to decide it down in College Station last year in the first meeting of their home-and-home. Instead, Texas A&M is just straight up pulverizing the helpless Bruins in a Sunday night showcase.

Can UCLA come out of the half with any firepower? Or will it be all Aggies like it was in the first half? This run was incredible, further illustrating how bad UCLA was on defense.
