2018 NFL Mock Draft: Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen top first round
By Brad Weiss
During the 2017 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills swung a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs so that the Chiefs could move up and select Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes II. Due to that trade, the Bills will get to pick twice in the first round next April, and they could add depth at wide receiver with their second pick. There are some dominant wideouts in this draft class, and Christian Kirk is definitely one of them.
During his time at Texas A&M, Kirk has established himself as one of the best wide receivers in college football. He has that big play ability that teams are always looking for, and he possesses blazing speed from his wideout position. His game is going to translate nicely to the NFL game, and could be perfect for the Bills.
This offseason, the Bills saw both Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods leave the nest, though they did bring in Jordan Matthews. The Bills also drafted Zay Jones in the second round, so they have some nice talent at wide receiver already. Adding Kirk to that mix would give them the WR1 that they were hoping Watkins would become, though that never actually panned out for Buffalo.
With a brand new head coach, the Bills are in a nice spot with multiple first round picks. They might wind up trading one of the picks for more picks, as the roster is in need of help all over both sides of the ball. If they do hold onto the pick, and take a quarterback early in round one, they will give their new signal-caller a fancy new weapon to play with in Kirk.
