It’s official. Lavar Ball will be in NBA 2k18.

Remember when Lonzo Ball was drafted No. 2 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft? LaVar Ball said he spoke it into existence. Well, he actually said, “the Lakers gone get that ball, and they gone get that Ball!”

I wonder if LaVar spoke this into existence too, because he’s going to be in NBA 2K18.

NBA 2K’s twitter account confirmed that the man himself will be jumping down your throat if you don’t perform right off the bat in your rookie year.

To be honest, seeing as your MyPlayer always starts out at around a 65 overall (unless you’re one of those people that buy VC), expect to hear from LaVar fairly often about your missed 15-foot jump shots.

First 2K confirmed that Lonzo Ball’s ZO2’s will be in the game, and now you can text back and forth with LaVar himself in MyPlayer mode.

2K is always looking for ways to improve their game, and what better way to sell more copies than to have one of the most controversial figures in the sports world. They did a great job with their MyPlayer mode last year by turning it into a story directed by Spike Lee. Spike Lee won’t be directing your player’s rookie campaign this time around, but this is just as good.

Even if you don’t like LaVar Ball, you have to be impressed by the man’s ability to get free publicity. With appearances on shows like First Take, The Herd and UNDISPUTED Ball has a platform that major corporations pay millions of dollars for.

Everything he says and the replies that he gets just fuels the fire. When he was on The Herd and told co-host Kristine Leahy to “stay in yo lane,” not only did he make another shirt out of it, but even DJ Suede the remix god turned it into a song that was actually pretty catchy.

It is unclear how many cryptic messages LaVar will send you, but when I get to choose sponsorships for my MyPlayer I am without a doubt choosing Big Baller Brand if it’s available.
