2. New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys

There really isn’t much better than an NFC East matchup. When the Giants and Cowboys are playing, you know it’s going to be a good one. The winner of the division likely comes out these two and getting a game in hand is going to be crucial come the end of the season. It could be the difference between home-field advantage in the playoffs.

It’s all about revenge for the Cowboys. They won the division last season, but two of their three losses came to the Giants. The Cowboys have had a shaky offseason to say the least. Along with losing two of their top corners, they could be without star running back Ezekiel Elliott. His suspension has been upheld for six games, but there’s a possibility he could play week one. If not, Darren McFadden will be tasked with the start. There isn’t much confidence in the defense, so it will come down to Dak Prescott to lead this team to the promise plan. After an amazing rookie year, he’ll look to get out on the right foot and avoid a sophomore slump.

The Giants defense will have something to say about that. I see the Giants as an underrated team that many are overlooking. They added in veteran Brandon Marshal to the receiving core and return a top-10 defense. Landon Collins and Janoris Jenkins are as good as advertised. With virtually no running game, Eli Manning will need to throwing silly interceptions. He has the tendency to do that late in games.

The game usually comes down to the wire with these two and I expect the same on Sunday night. If the Giants can pull out the win in Jerry’s World, they head into Week 2 flying high with a one-game lead on their division rival.
