As you might have expected, Patriots fans still don’t like Roger Goodell.

Thursday is opening night in the NFL, and the football world will be centered in Foxboro as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots.

As usual, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is in attendance for the ceremony, and to see the banner raised for the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history. As you might have imagined, Patriots fans still don’t like The Commish.

Goodell was mercilessly booed by the fans as he walked onto the field during pregame. If you recall, Goodell suspended Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for the first four games of the season last year as a result of Deflategate.

Those who weren’t Patriots fans were probably somewhere celebrating the fact that the Patriots might actually lose. Well, they went 3-1 to start the season, and never looked back.

While the fans may not like the commissioner, Patriots owner Robert Kraft is actually really good friends with Goodell. Even with the suspension to arguably the greatest quarterback of all time, both of them still seem to be joined at the hip.

As for the actual team, the Patriots have won their last eight season openers. In Tom Brady’s career, he’s 92-15 at home. To say the Chiefs are faced with a tall task would be an extreme understatement.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is 3-1 lifetime against Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, with the one loss coming in Arrowhead Stadium back in 2014. The Chiefs stomped the Patriots 41-14, which resulted in the infamous “we’re on to Cincinnati” press conference from Belichick.

The Patriots went on to win the Super Bowl that season. The following season, they met again in the playoffs with the Patriots coming out victorious.

It’s a new season, though, and both teams have their sights set on a Super Bowl championship.
