The Florida State Seminoles face the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks in Week 2 of the college football season and here’s all the info you need to watch.
The Florida State Seminoles showed a number of good things in their season-opening loss to Alabama. Their defense looked more than formidable and should be a big issue for opponents moving forward. What’s more, their offense showed flashes of real potential. The issue, however, is that it takes more than a number of good things to knock off a team with the depth and caliber of the Crimson Tide.
As we all know now, FSU lost that matchup by two scores. Even worse, though, they also lost star quarterback Deondre Francois for the season with a torn patellar tendon. Subsequently there was a damper on the Florida State season moving forward. Even still, they hoped to move on quickly as they welcomed the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks to Doak Walker Stadium on Saturday night for the second game of the season.

Initially, FSU and ULM were supposed to play a night game in Tallahassee. Instead, due to the approaching Hurricane Irma, the game was moved up to Noon ET to try and get it in before the storm arrived. After a bit of time, though, even that was proven to be not enough. So school officials took it one step further.

Unfortunately, due to the ferocity and dire nature of Hurricane Irma, the matchup between Florida State and Louisiana Monroe had to be canceled. As it appears now, this game will not be made up, though that could change. However, no one can blame the Seminoles or Warhawks for this decision. Things are bigger than football. And with 10s of thousands of lives on the line, that’s certainly the case in this instance.
