The uniforms being worn by the Oregon Ducks in their Week 2 game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers were designed by childhood cancer survivors Sophia, Ethan and Joe.

Saturday’s games haven’t even been played yet but I already have my favorite story of the week. Oregon uniforms for their Week 2 game against Nebraska will have a special characteristic about them. Now, Oregon always has lavish and creative uniforms, but these are special, because they were designed by three childhood cancer survivors.

Joe MacDonald (14), Sophia Malinoski (10) and Ethan Frank (13) were matched with an Oregon football player to design a part of the Ducks uniform and they all did a tremendous job and should be awfully proud of the work they did.

Joe was paired with defensive lineman Justin Hollins and designed the cleats, tights and the socks. Sophia worked with offensive lineman Tyrell Crosby to create the helmet and the iconic duck logo. Lastly, Frank worked with defensive back Khalil Oliver on the jersey and the pants.

Check out the images of what the three were able to come up with.

The “win the day, win the fight uniforms” are sure to be the best thing you see on the football field this week, and will go down as one of the best stories to come out of college football all year.

The work even caught the attention of the best Duck to ever wear an Oregon uniform and Marcus Mariota made a special video for it.

Last week saw USC blind long snapper Jake Olson play in his first game and Michigan State defensive back Tyson Smith returned an interception for a touchdown in his first game since suffering a stroke after last season. College football is full of great inspirational and motivational stories and the Oregon football team provided our latest example by making a life-long memory for these three brave kids and their families.

Win the day and win the fight!

Oregon is selling these uniforms and all proceeds go to the pediatric cancer fund at the hospital where the Joe, Ethan and Sophia are treated.
