The Penn State Nittany Lions will play host to the Pittsburgh Panthers on Saturday, as they look to avenge their heartbreaking loss from 2016.

In 2016, the Pittsburgh Panthers beat the Penn State Nittany Lions in an instant classic, 42-39. Since then, the Nittany Lions have only lost two games, and head into the rematch as the No. 4 ranked team in the country. They will be looking to make another statement after destroying Akron in Week 1, but the Panthers should be a much stiffer test.

Star running back James Connor is gone from Pitt, but they do have some talented players left on offense. New quarterback Max Browne transferred in from USC, and led the team to a nice overtime victory against Youngstown State last weekend. Pitt is a decent team, but this Penn State squad will have an advantage in this one due to some big defensive stars being suspended.

Safety Jordan Whitehead and linebacker Quintin Wiringis are both out on Saturday, which means Penn State running back Saquon Barkley is going to eat. Barkley showed why his a front-runner for the Heisman Trophy last weekend against Akron, and he should have plenty of room to run this weekend. Quarterback Trace McSorley is one of the best signal-callers in the Big Ten, so look for him to exploit the Whitehead-less Pitt secondary.

Here is how to watch the action online.

This game went down to the wire last season, with Penn State coming out on the wrong side of the decision. They are a completely different program since that loss, and will show the Panthers why they are the No. 4 ranked team in the country. Look for the faithful inside Beaver Stadium to go home happy in this one, as the Lions continue to roar in the 2017 season.
