Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Terry Godwin makes a ridiculous one-handed touchdown grab versus the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to tie the game up at 10.

After a fumble on the exchange between quarterback Jake Fromm and running back Nick Chubb, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish were able to take the lead over the Georgia Bulldogs in the second quarter.

Georgia played with poise on its next offensive series, resulting in the first great highlight of the game. Bulldogs quarterback Fromm would find wide receiver Terry Godwin for a crazy, one-handed grab to make it 10-9 Notre Dame. The made PAT by Rodrigo Blankenship would tie it up at 10 points apiece.

The play was initially ruled incomplete, as the official didn’t think that Godwin got his foot down as he made the grab. He bobbled it, but not before getting his foot down for six. Georgia needed that touchdown in a tight ball game on the road up in South Bend.

While Dawg Nation made the trek to the midwest, beating Notre Dame with a true freshman quarterback in Fromm was going to be tough sledding. Fromm was forced into action last week once Georgia starter Jacob Eason had to exit the game with a knee injury.

Fromm is a former four-star recruit and enrolled early to play for the Dawgs this spring. Godwin has been with the Bulldogs the last few years. He will be leaned on as Georgia’s No. 1 wideout this season.

While Georgia looks to be a defense-first team, the Bulldogs will need the occasional big play out of guys like Godwin to win big this fall. That sort of grab will continue to build confidence for a young signal caller like Fromm. This game is shaping up to be a good one in South Bend. Will it be Georgia or Notre Dame that ends up victorious?
