Odell Beckham Jr. is still a game-time decision for Sunday night’s matchup against Dallas, but is he worth sitting even if he plays?

The biggest question coming into Week 1 for fantasy footballers was whether or not Odell Beckham Jr was going to start. He was battling an ankle injury and his status was in doubt. We now know definitively what route you should go as far as starting or sitting him, as the Giants medical staff made the decision easy for us.

Beckham is inactive for Week 1 against Dallas which means you can officially slide him to the bench in your fantasy lineup.

This hurts a lot if you locked him in on your Daily Fantasy lineup, but you still have time to make a change in some standard leagues. ESPN, CBS and most standard leagues allow you to make a change before a game starts, and there are still three games left to be played (including the Cowboys-Giants showdown).

If you have anyone from either of the Monday night games on your bench, make the switch now. Even if it looks unlikely they’ll make an impact it’ll still be more of a chance than if you start Beckham.

The question now is how long will he be out. Despite warning signs all week long that he would miss Sunday’s game, there was this idea that he was going to start. He just had to, OBJ is a fantasy stud who simply can’t miss the first game of the year.

His ankles are money, though, and he’s looking for a big time payday for all he’s done in New York. If he can’t move because he’s hobbled by an ankle injury, then his fantasy value falls and it’s almost more of a problem if he plays. At least this way, with Beckham missing the game, we can replace him in out lineups instead of hoping he plays injured and musters up points.
