Bob Ley of ESPN will have none of your negative comments about Monday Night Football sideline reporter Sergio Dipp

By now here on this Tuesday, especially if you’re an NFL fan, if you haven’t heard the name Sergio Dipp then you’ve probably been stuck under a rock. The ESPN Deportes reporter made his Monday Night Football debut during the second game of the evening between the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers, and during his appearance on American television, he struggled a little bit. Of course, this brought out the idiots on Twitter who wanted to make fun of the guy for having a tough time while trying to deliver a report in his second language because, you know, people are perfect.

But for as many people that wanted to bring the mean, there were thankfully more than enough people, especially prominent people in the sports world, who were quick to come to Dipp’s defense. One of those people on Tuesday just so happened to be one of the more respected names in the sports media world, ESPN’s Bob Ley.

On Tuesday, the veteran Ley concluded his usual Outside the Lines broadcast by sticking up for his ESPN colleague and it was just the absolute greatest.

This was just awesome on so many levels from Ley, especially how he used himself as an example. He once tried to deliver a report in Spanish and admittedly wasn’t able to do it, telling the producers that they had to switch the soccer report to English. Here’s a veteran admitting that he one time couldn’t do something that a much younger colleague, all things considered, actually did pretty well with on Monday night.

The cheers for Dipp and what he did on Monday night, on national television, keep rolling in, but it’s awesome to see someone of Ley’s stature tell all of the idiots to shut up, basically.
