Week 1 of the NFL is in the books. Take a look at the divisional standings, which are exactly how we all imagined after the first week.

AFC East

  • Buffalo Bills 1-0
  • Miami Dolphins 0-0
  • New York Jets 0-1
  • New England Patriots 0-1

The Bills lead the AFC East after a win over the Jets on Sunday. The Bills looked good and may prove all those who thought the Sammy Watkins and Ronald Darby trades were an attempt to tank were premature.

AFC South

  • Jacksonville Jaguars 1-0
  • Indianapolis Colts 0-1
  • Houston Texans 0-1
  • Tennessee Titans 0-1

The Jaguars trounced divisional rival the Houston Texans on the road to jump out to an early division lead. Rookie running back Leonard Fournette carried the offensive load while the defense, specifically the front four, dominated the Texans from the start. Houston is looking to a change at QB bringing in their own highly drafted rookie, Deshaun Watson to kick start a stalled offense.

AFC North

  • Pittsburgh Steelers 1-0
  • Baltimore Ravens 1-0
  • Cinicinnati Bengals 0-1
  • Cleveland Browns 0-1

The AFC North was one of two divisions to have all four teams playing each other in the opening weekend. Pittsburgh struggled early with the feisty Browns and rookie QB Deshone Kizer. Cleveland’s defense looked like a solid unit, and that was without number one pick Myles Garrett. The Steelers always struggle a bit on the road but still remain one of the scariest offenses in the NFL.

T.J. Watt made quite the impression in his first game with two sacks and an interception. The Ravens won a battle against the Bengals that saw Cincinnati struggle offensively in the shut out. Baltimore looks like a ferocious defense for what seems like the 20th year in a row. The loss of Danny Woodhead may be felt as the season progresses for Baltimore’s backfield.

AFC West

  • Denver Broncos 1-0
  • Oakland Raiders 1-0
  • Kansas City Chiefs 1-0
  • Los Angeles Chargers 0-1

The Broncos finished off Week 1 on Monday against the Chargers in a close win in Denver. The Broncos defense looked good for the majority of the game prior to giving up some Chargers’ movement in the fourth quarter. The Raiders went to Nashville and beat a fan-favorite pick as a sleeper team, the Titans.

Marshawn Lynch is back and running angrier than ever. The most surprising performance was from the Chiefs who beat up on the Patriots in New England. Kareem Hunt looks like the real deal and Alex Smith has some major weapons at every level of the offense. The loss of starting safety Eric Berry is going to hurt but that pass rush and Marcus Peters should be able to handle the loss.
