Stephen A. Smith and LaVar Ball go at it again on ESPN First Take

Stephen A. Smith and LaVar Ball make for very good TV.

Everyone’s favorite trash talker LaVar Ball was back on First Take  Wednesday, and he was fantastic.

If you didn’t know, Ball’s “motto” seems to be that he’s going to speak everything into existence. He spoke Lonzo Ball to the Lakers into existence so what else could he possibly speak into existence this time? How about 50-plus wins, and a season split with the defending champ Golden State Warriors?

Stephen A. Smith was absolutely out of his mind.

The Los Angeles Lakers finished last season 26-56, and according to Vegas their over/under for win total this season is set at 32.5. LaVar thinks the Lakers will win 18 more games than Vegas has them projected at. If anyone else had said it I’d bet my life savings on the under, but since LaVar said it the over might be in play here.

In order for the Lakers to get anywhere close to the big 50, his son Lonzo is going to have to have a season that makes him a candidate for MVP. Lonzo is one of the favorites to win Rookie of the Year, but MVP, in a league with the likes of Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and of course LeBron James is a long shot.

Now if LaVar were to somehow, someway speak that into existence then he most certainly would break the internet, along with the souls of everybody who doesn’t like LaVar.

If you were to go by Lonzo’s track record in recent history the numbers are in his favor. He didn’t lose a single game in his senior year of high school. He led his UCLA team to a 31-5 record in his one and only year.

Obviously those records have no bearing on how good he and the Lakers will be this season but I, for one, am 100 percent prepared for any, and every scenario.
