The hot seat is beginning to become unbearably warm for several coaches across college football. These five coaches need a win in Week 3.

As the weeks in college football continue to add up, we draw closer to the first head coach being axed. With the non-conference portion of schedules nearing an end, things are beginning to pick up on the year. For some coaches, that means they’ll soon be picking up their belongings and getting out of town.

Disaster might be an understatement for the start that some of these coaches are off to. Some years, it will take a little while for the hot seat to reach a steady burn. This year, that chair is hotter than a summer hike through Death Valley.

That means, this is the week that some coaches need to put a win on the board or they risk going on a losing streak that will certainly be the final nail in their coffin. Here are the head coaches on the hot seat heading into Week 3.

5. Lance Leipold

If the Buffalo Bulls had any semblance of an offense, they would be a fantastic team. Their defense is only giving up an average of 19 points per game, which means the offense has to be pretty terrible through two weeks.

And that statistics certainly back up that hypothesis. The team is averaging 12 points a game currently and they might be one of the most boring teams to watch in some time. Lance Leipold is also in some trouble because of it.

After a horrible two-win season last year and just a five-win season in his first, it’s very possible that this team might be even worse. With their conference play around the corner, Buffalo is not showing any signs of life.

They play Colgate this week, which should hopefully be their one layup. If they drop this one and it wouldn’t be the most shocking thing in the world, then that seat is firmly ablaze.
