You know there’s trouble in paradise when you’re flipping the double bird to your home fans.

It’s been a rough start to the season for the Texas A&M Aggies and it would appear some of that early-season frustration has reached a boiling point.

With the Aggies trailing Louisiana at home at halftime, freshman wide receiver Will Gunnell was running through the tunnel back to the locker room with the rest of his teammates when he had an impromptu double flipping of the bird to the Aggie faithful inside Kyle Field.

You can check out the footage of Gunnell flipping the double bird below. It’s a quick (obscene) gesture, but look toward the mid-left of the screen for the middle fingers going up.

Gunnell took a page out of the playbook of Marshawn Lynch who was recently fined $12,000 for a double flipping of the bird. Gunnell won’t be fined for his gesture, but you can bet Kevin Sumlin will have some form of discipline and punishment for his freshman receiver. I’d expect Sumlin will have his receiver up at 5 a.m. tomorrow and for a few days running stairs, gassers, and any other forms of extreme conditioning to send a message that this type of selfish and immature behavior is not something he wants to be associated with the program.

This is a really bad look for Gunnell. It’s something I’m sure he regretted by the time he got to the locker room, or at least, it should be. I would imagine some of his teammates were witness to what he did and will take umbrage with his actions.

In the meantime, Texas A&M is just trying to avoid an embarrassing home loss to Louisiana after already suffering what likely will be the most painful loss of the year when they allowed five unanswered touchdowns to Josh Rosen and UCLA in the opener.

Update: Texas A&M outscored Louisiana 31-0 after halftime to get the win and afterward, Gunnell apologized on Twitter for his actions.

That was a quick apology and you just know he had to regret that heat of the moment act going into the tunnel. This will be a blip on the radar for Gunnell in the long-run, but this will serve as a teaching moment for him.
