The No. 16 Virginia Tech Hokies will face off against the East Carolina Pirates Saturday. Here’s how to watch one of the best teams in the ACC online.

The Virginia Tech Hokies hope to continue their perfect start to the season as they play East Carolina. Kickoff from Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in Greenville, North Carolina on Saturday will be at 3:30 p.m. ET. CBS Sports will have the telecast. The available live stream will be on CBS Sports Live.

This is the first road test for Virginia Tech after two impressive home wins. Everything is clicking for the Hokies early on. Josh Jackson is exceeding expectations passing for 457 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions in the team’s first two games. Virginia Tech started the season with an important victory on a neutral field against West Virginia by a score of 31-24. Not only has the team passed effectively, their running has been strong. They average 157.5 yards per game on the ground. Jackson is their leading runner as well as passer. While Virginia Tech is allowing just 12 points per game, they are giving up 407.5 yards of offense each game. East Carolina shouldn’t be able to break through this defense, but it will need to improve by the time conference play comes along in the ACC. This game should be a confidence builder for Virginia Tech.

East Carolina has been disappointing in their first two outings of the season. Interestingly enough, the Pirates have also played the Mountaineers of West Virginia. Unlike the Hokies, East Carolina lost big by a score of 56-20. Nothing is quite working for the Greenville squad to start the year. Quarterback Thomas Sirk has been mediocre, throwing four interceptions compared to just one touchdown so far. They have a decent receiving core made up of Davon Grayson, Trevon Brown, and Jimmy Williams. However, an inaccurate makes the skills of good receivers moot. Their ground game is averaging just over 100 yards per game, but that won’t cut it when the passing game isn’t effective. Their defense is a doozy. They are allowing 45 points and an astounding 616.5 yards per game. Only Tulsa is allowing more yards in the FBS. They hope to turn around their performance in this home game, despite having lost three straight games at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Meanwhile, Virginia Tech has won seven of eight on the road. Amazingly, the Pirates have beaten the Hokies in two of the last three season, which could motivate them. Although, Virginia Tech has improved and East Carolina has only gotten worse.

The Virginia Tech have been impressive to start the season and East Carolina shouldn’t be much of a problem. The Pirates may cover the spread, but winning the game will be a tall order.
