Harold Landry

DE, Boston College

The nation’s top pass rusher had his first real chance to go up a top offensive line this season. Harold Landry and Boston College hosted Notre Dame over the weekend and it was a chance for him to flash that pass rushing ability.

Unfortunately for Landry and many that go up against the stout Notre Dame line, he got shut out on the day. He finished with just one tackle on the day and didn’t get to the quarterback as he would have liked.

When he gets to the NFL, he’s going to face great competition all the time and he has to show that he can engage and get off his blocks. He has the freakish ability to be able to do those things, but it’s clear that he still has room to improve.

He’s a tremendous talent and is going to have a big season. There’s nothing wrong with struggling against the likes of Mike McGlinchey. That’s the case for most EDGE defenders on a weekly basis when facing him.

The best recipe is to bounce back and have a big day the next time he takes the field. If he can show that his sacks don’t just all come in bunches, then it will help his stock even more going forward.
