By Brad Kelly
Jeimer Candelario is already showing flashes of his potential for the Detroit Tigers. But is he worth a waiver wire add moving forward?

One of their most talented youngsters though is Jeimer Candelario. Now that he has caught fire at the plate, is he worth a waiver wire add?
Jeimer Candelario has been lauded as a top prospect for some time now. A polished hitter, with smooth power and a good eye at the plate, he looks destined to be a fixture of in major league lineup for the foreseeable future.
The Cubs made it no secret that they were willing to trade their plethora of prospects over the last two seasons. They continued that by dishing Candelario to the Tigers for relief ace Justin Wilson and Alex Avila.

Candelario made his major league debut in 2016 for the Cubs and notched his first major league hit, but only lasted five games before heading back down. He was recalled again this season for the Cubs, where he posted a .152 AVG over 11 games.
These are both small sample sizes of course, but he has turned things on for the Tigers so far this month. Over 15 games in Sep., he is posting a .373/2 HR/8 RBI/1.064 OPS line. He has already chipped in 13 runs as well, showing that he is igniting what has become a stagnant offense.
Fantasy owners looking for a potential spark should look no further than Candelario. It is hard to find a hotter hitter in the league right, seven of his 17 hits have even gone for XBH.
