Enes Kanter sticks up for Thunder after Kevin Durant comments

After Kevin Durant had some harsh criticism of his former employer, Oklahoma City Thunder center Enes Kanter stands up for the organization Durant left.

Maybe Kevin Durant should have stayed off social media the other day? He essentially revealed to the world that he has fake accounts to defend himself on Twitter. Apparently he forgot to swap accounts when he answered in third person about his decision to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Golden State Warriors in free agency.

Durant threw his former head coach Billy Donovan and all of his former teammates sans Russell Westbrook under the bus in one miscalculated message. No, that did not make things better between Durant and the Warriors.

Oklahoma City center Enes Kanter took to Twitter to back up his teammates and organization that Durant left in his free agency two summers ago. Kanter has been with the Thunder mid-way through the 2015 NBA season.

It’s a terrible look for Durant, plain and simple. All that tweet did was give the Thunder even more reason to get after the Warriors when they play this upcoming season. Oklahoma City added former Indiana Pacers swingman Paul George in a blockbuster trade this summer.

George may only be with the Thunder for a year, as he will be hitting unrestricted free agency in 2018. However, he and reigning NBA MVP point guard Russell Westbrook should have the Thunder as a 50-win team in 2017-18.

Durant has been public enemy No. 1 in the NBA since his departure to the Bay Area from Oklahoma City to join the team that beat his in the 2016 Western Conference Finals. While Durant was able to win his first Larry O’Brien Trophy last year, everybody wants to knock pompous Golden State down a peg. No team feels this way more than the Thunder. This is ultimate bulletin board material for Oklahoma City.
