4. Miami Hurricanes

Rank: 14, Opponent: Toledo Rockets

If it feels like you haven’t heard much from the Miami Hurricanes in a while, that’s because you haven’t. Due to the impact of Hurricane Irma in Florida, Miami cancelled their Week 2 game against Arkansas State. What’s more, they then postponed their Week 3 matchup against Florida State. As such, the only frame of reference we have for Mark Richt’s team to this point is their season-opener against Bethune-Cookman.

Without question, Miami has a massive talent advantage over the Toledo Rockets. That’s not to say that Toledo doesn’t have some impressive players on their roster, because they assuredly do. Logan Woodside at quarterback is a veteran presence who has been great in leading the Rockets to 3-0, while Terry Swanson is a nice player in the backfield. Having said that, Miami matches or betters them in every area.

Having said that, the time off could potentially be a burden for Richt’s team in this matchup. They haven’t had the time to get into a rhythm that other teams — namely Toledo — have over the course of the first three weeks of the season. There’s at least a chance that they struggle to have any kind of flow or have a letdown game that many teams experience early in the year. If that happens, the Rockets are talented enough to capitalize.
