Oklahoma State has been demolishing opponents en route to their 3-0 start. Here are three reasons the Cowboys will roll TCU this weekend.

At one point this past weekend, Oklahoma State was up 49-14 against Pittsburgh. They’ve been beating up on opponents constantly and the Cowboys just might do that again this weekend when they take on TCU.

The Cowboys opened the season against Tulsa, easily taking down them to a tune of 59-24. QB Mason Rudolph wasn’t getting as much recognition as some of the other top quarterbacks coming into the season, but he started turning some heads after their opener.

They backed that up with a 44-7 win at South Alabama, but they’re not much of an opponent, so nobody had fully bought in to Oklahoma State yet. The Cowboys’ road win at Pittsburgh was huge, dropping 59 points in the game and 49 of those came in the first half.

They’re beating opponents by an average of 37 points per game. Their biggest test this season will come against TCU on Saturday. Here’s why Mike Gundy’s squad steamroll TCU, like the rest of their opponents.

3. TCU hasn’t shown it can beat down an opponent

Now bear with me here, while I try to make my full argument. So far this season, TCU has consistently been in close games and having to win a few of those games in the waning moments.

Against SMU, the Horned Frogs were trailing at one point by double digits and needed three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to be able to escape victorious. Against Arkansas, TCU was in a one-score game, until two late touchdowns helped them pull away.

The Horned Frogs haven’t shown that they can truly beat an opponent from start to finish and they haven’t even played one that’s at the caliber of Oklahoma State. So where’s the confidence that TCU can slow the Cowboys down?

Simple answer: there isn’t. Oklahoma State has consistently just beat down on teams from start to finish. They’ve yet to trail in games and I suspect they won’t be doing much of that on Saturday.

It’s going to be all Mason Rudolph and the Cowboys’ offense, and TCU won’t know what hit them. TCU won’t be prepared to play an opponent of this level and I think it could get ugly pretty quickly.
