Looking forward to the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots host the Houston Texans? Check here where you can catch this contest.

Back in 2002, the Houston Texans came into existence and took the field for the first time. That same year, the New England Patriots were coming off their first Super Bowl title year and were beginning their residence at newly-built Gillette Stadium.

On Sunday at Foxborough, these clubs clash for the fourth time in three seasons. But history shows us that this hasn’t been much of a series as coaches Bill Belichick and Bill O’Brien renew acquaintances again.

Including playoffs, the Patriots own an 8-1 lifetime record in this series. Houston’s lone win in this setting came back in 2009. Since then, New England has won six straight meetings. In 2016, the Texans fell on a Thursday night at Foxborough, 27-0, in Week 3. Four months later, the Pats came up with a 34-16 home win in the AFC Divisional Playoffs.

Odds

Line: Patriots (-13)

Over/Under: 43.5

Two weeks in 2017, the Patriots have lost by 15 points and won by 16 points. They are heavy favorites to keep the Texans winless at Foxborough (0-5, including playoffs) via SportsBook Review). That over/under number appears ripe for the taking.

Regardless of injuries, we have seen the New England Patriots continue to put points on the board. Brady remains at the top of his game even after a somewhat slow start in Week 1. The Houston Texans do boast one of the better defenses in the NFL. O’Brien’s team won’t go away quietly and Watson should be able to exploit a defense lacking a pass rush. But the champs will once again find a way.

Pick: Patriots 27, Texans 26
