Could the WWE No Mercy pay-per-view provide any misdirections on Sunday night?

On Sunday night, WWE’s No Mercy pay-per-view will take place. It’s the first Raw-exclusive show since SummerSlam, which will feature two of the biggest matches of the year: John Cena vs. Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman. The former will main event the show.

Outside of these two bouts, there are five others. They’re the depth of this card, which looks quality from top to bottom.

Every match will have a winner, but WWE may throw a swerve or two in some or all of them. That goes for Reigns vs. Cena, too. How “bold” will it get at No Mercy? Will this impact a superstar that wins a title?

Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins win, have minor miscommunication issues

When Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins reformed as two-thirds of The Shield, it seemed somewhat too good to be true. These two went through a bloodbath of a rivalry in 2015, which continued into 2016. Ambrose even cashed in his Money in the Bank contract in 2016. However, one year later, with a common goal, they teamed up and became the Raw Tag Team Champions.

With (almost) all WWE tag teams or friendships, all good things must come to an end. That happened with Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho, Chad Gable and Jason Jordan, and Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. All three had different endings to their friendships, but still highlighted that duos can split in a blink of the eye.

Will Ambrose and Rollins do this at No Mercy? Probably not. It would be odd timing, as they’ve been on the same page since becoming Raw Tag Team Champions. Seeing Cesaro and Sheamus win these titles for the third time in 2017 would be another surprise, so look for the champions to stand tall.

However, Ambrose and Rollins are bound to go their separate ways at some point. What if there is some teased tension at No Mercy? They may have just a second of miscommunication, a building block toward their eventual split. This might not come to fruition for another one or two, but WWE can show a crack between them that leads to a bigger problem by November’s Survivor Series.
