Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield straight up told the Baylor Bears he was going to spank them in their Week 4 matchup on Saturday night in Waco.

It’s good to be the Oklahoma Sooners. They are the No. 3 team in the country and might have the frontrunner for the 2017 Heisman Trophy in redshirt senior quarterback Baker Mayfield. Mayfield has finished in the top-four of Heisman voting in his first two years in Norman.

His team is about to take on a down Big 12 rival in the hapless Baylor Bears. Baylor has collapsed in the wake of the end of the Art Briles era and things have not been going well for new head coach Matt Rhule. Baylor might be 0-3 on the year, but they had no problem talking smack to the Sooners during pre-game warmups.

Too bad Mayfield was having absolutely none of that. He jaws at the Baylor football players with this awesome line, “You forgot who Daddy is, I’m going to have to spank you today.” He means what he says, as the best tactician we’ve seen of an Air Raid offense in a long time.

Through three games with the 2017 Sooners, Mayfield has completed 76.8 percent of his passes for 1,046 yards, 10 touchdowns and no interceptions. Oklahoma seems to be the favorite to come out of the Big 12 this year. If the Sooners win the Big 12 Conference Championship Game, Oklahoma will make the College Football Playoff for the second time in three years.

Mayfield has many times put the Oklahoma offense on his back to carry the team to victory. He can make all the throws head coach Lincoln Riley asks of him. Oklahoma was probably going to crush Baylor in Waco anyway, but now with this extra motivation, look for Mayfield to burn the Bears secondary to a crisp on Saturday night.
