The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will face off against the Appalachian State Mountaineers Saturday. Here’s how to watch one of the most surprising teams in college football online.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons hope to continue their undefeated start to the season as they play Appalachian State. Kickoff from Kidd Brewer Stadium in Boone, North Carolina on Saturday will be at 3:30 p.m. ET. ESPN3 will have the telecast. The available live stream will be on WatchESPN.

Wake Forest has surprised a lot of people by winning each of their first three games to begin the season. They’ve defeated Presbyterian and Utah State at home, Boston College on the road. The Demon Deacons won every game by at least 24 points. These dominant performances have earned them a little consideration for a ranking from the Associated Press.

Senior John Wolford has stepped up big time at the quarterback position. He’s playing like a quarterback with a lot of experience. Through three games, he’s thrown for 500 yards, six touchdowns, and zero interceptions on 64.3 percent passing. Greg Dortch has been his favorite target. Dortch has 14 receptions and four touchdowns this season. Wake Forest ranks 21st in the nation in total defense, allowing just 273.3 yards per game.

The Demon Deacons are playing well on all fronts and should come into this game with a ton of confidence. However, this will definitely be the toughest game, thus far, for Wake Forest as they head to North Carolina.

Appalachian State is undoubtedly a dangerous team. They’ve beaten Texas State on the road and Savannah State at home after losing by 21 in Athens against Georgia to open the season. Like Wolford, Taylor Lamb is Appalachian State’s senior quarterback and he is playing the best football of his career. He’s completing 67.1 percent of his passes for 622 yards, six touchdowns, and zero interceptions. This game will likely down to the performance of these two gunslingers.

Terrence Upshaw has proven himself as a skilled runner in the red zone. He’s run for 163 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries. Appalachian State is a hard team to forecast because while they dominated Savannah State, they edged out Texas State by just seven points. They’ve been promising, but this will be a test to see how formidable of an opponent they re.
