Looking to your FanDuel NFL contests for Week 3, here’s a lineup to consider putting together.

Before I unveil my FanDuel NFL lineup for Week 3, let’s look at how I did in Week 2.

Quarterback: Tom Brady-30.78 points
Running Backs: Leonard Fournette-13.1 points, Ty Montgomery-26 points
Wide Receivers: Brandin Cooks-5.3 points, DeSean Jackson-5.4 points, Adam Thielen-4.9 points
Tight End: Zach Ertz-12.2 points
Kicker: Blair Walsh-6 points
Defense: Arizona Cardinals-10 points

Betting on an angry Brady in a favorable matchup worked out, but he didn’t take former Saints’ wide receiver Cooks with him. Montgomery was a good choice too, along with solid showings from Fournette and Ertz. Walsh and the Cardinals’ defense were decidedly unspectacular.

Wide receivers let me down big time again in Week 2, so I’m going with a different plan there this week.

Here is my FanDuel lineup for Week 3, which once again I am using.

Quarterback: Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs-$7,400

In two games against the Chargers last year Smith threw for 363 (Week 1) and 264 yards (Week 17), with two touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown in each game while completing over 72 percent of his passes (55-for-76).

After his 368-yard, four-touchdown game in Week 1, Smith had a solid 251 yards and a touchdown in a tougher matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2.

The Chargers have not been lit up through the air in two games, but No. 1 cornerback Jason Verrett (knee) missed Week 2 and it’s not clear when he will return to action. Trevor Siemian had three total touchdowns against the Chargers in Week 1, so it’s easy to see Smith doing similarly well on Sunday.

Smith is always overlooked in any fantasy football format, so there’s a nice opportunity to go a little outside the box in FanDuel with him this week.
