Larry Fitzgerald snatches the ball away from the Cowboy’s Orlando Scandrick with a sensational catch.

Larry Fitzgerald is already a legend with the Arizona Cardinals and his catch against the Dallas Cowboys’ Orlando Scandrick was nothing short of spectacular.

You can make the argument that Scandrick, the Cowboys’ best cornerback, let a sure interception slip through his fingertips, which is surely what happened. But the catch that Fitzgerald made is the sort of play that he has made throughout his career.

That circus catch could not have come at a better time in the game for the Cardinals, who were slumbering through a drive that had not one, but two, of Carson Palmer’s balls, nearly picked off by the Cowboys’ “bend, but don’t break” defense.

Facing a 3rd-and-18, and the outcome of the game hanging in the balance, Palmer nearly put a nail in his own coffin by throwing up a 50-50 ball toward the Cardinals legend, Fitzgerald. The problem was that Scandrick had a better read on the ball, and, for a split second, he had the game sealed right there in his hands.

That wouldn’t be the case, for the moment anyway.

Scandrick couldn’t secure the football on the way back to the field, and Fitzgerald, as only the legends can do, had the presence of mind to see that Scandrick wasn’t paying attention to the ball.

When the ball slipped through Orlando’s hands, Fitzgerald saw his opportunity to keep a disastrous drive alive, and that’s exactly what he did.
