Manchester City are coming into this fixture on a winning streak. They beat Feyenoord 4-0 in their first match of Champions League group stage play, and have won their past three Premier League matches by a combined score of 16-0. Shakhtar haven’t lost a match since July. The Ukrainian side are no strangers to the Champions League stage. This is their seventh group stage appearance in eight years. They have made it to the last 16 on three occasions, the last being during the 2014-2015 campaign. Shakhtar haven’t found much success when playing in England, however. They’ve lost five of their six away matches against English sides and their only positive result came against Tottenham in 2008-2009. However, they are very confident in away ventures across Europe otherwise. They’ve won their last five away matches across Europe. Shakhtar will hope to prove themselves as the real deal with a strong performance against Manchester City.
