Maribor have been dominant in the Slovenian league. They’ve won six trophies in seven years in domestic play. The Slovenian side should come into this match with some confidence having notched a 1-1 draw against Spartak Moscow in the first fixture of group stage play. Maribor could have easily won this game if their goalkeeper could have held onto a long-range shot from Fernando. Aleksandr Samedov pounced with a rebound and put it into the back of the net.
