The opening point spreads are out for the 16 NFL games in Week 4. Here are the five best bets against the spread for this week of NFL football action.

We have made it to Week 4 of the 2017 NFL season. Week 3 was an unforgettable week with so many close games and so many shocking upsets. Add in the political ramifications surrounding the week and Week 3 was incredible.

It was also a good week for me against the spread. While the Miami Dolphins were terrible and the Dallas Cowboys covered the spread, I went 3-2 with my five best bets from Week 3. Swallowing the 2.5 points and going with the Kansas City Chiefs against the Los Angeles Chargers in a soccer stadium was smart.

Taking the New Orleans Saints getting 5.5 points against a Carolina Panthers team will no offense on the road was definitely the right call. Though I thought it would be a closer game, the Washington Redskins not only covered, but slaughtered the Oakland Raiders in primetime.

Through the first three weeks of the season, I am 9-5-1 against the spread with back-to-back winning weeks. Not to say that I’ll average 70 percent of these best bets the rest of the way (that would be incredible), here is where my head’s at for the five best bets of the week for Week 4.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars (-3.5) at New York Jets

This is an intriguing line for two reasons. One, the Jacksonville Jaguars are a road favorite. When does that ever happen? Two, the New York Jets are only getting 3.5 points at home versus the Jaguars. So what gives?

Both teams are coming off dominating Week 3 victories. Jacksonville dismantled the Baltimore Ravens in London to improve to 2-1 on the year. The lowly Jets pushed around a division rival in the Miami Dolphins at home to get their first win of the season.

The logic behind swallowing the 3.5 points and going with the Jaguars is that Jacksonville has a recipe for success to beat bad teams like the Jets. Jacksonville might have an elite defense. It can get after Jets quarterback Josh McCown. Should the Jaguars set quarterback Blake Bortles up in favorable passing situations, the Jaguars can most certainly rout the Jets at MetLife.

Like in most games, it will come down to who is better in the trenches. Do you think the Jets offensive line stands a chance against Calais Campbell and the Jaguars defensive line? Playing in London will not negatively affect Jacksonville in this Week 4 game because the team is used to playing overseas. Swallow up to maybe five points with the Jaguars in this one.
