If the NFL season ended tomorrow, there is no longer a guarantee that a quarterback would be selected first overall in April.

The NFL season is already entering Week 4, and there has been a fair share of surprises to date. One look at the NFL Draft order as of last weeks games, and you can see that some of the better teams in the league have struggled out of the gate. The draft order is certain to look a lot different next April, but this is how things would shape up if the season ended tomorrow.

During the offseason, it looked like the New York Jets would put a roster together that would guarantee the first overall pick. However, after three games, the Jets barely make it into the top-10, as a familiar face has earned the first pick thus far. Here is our latest 2018 NFL Mock Draft.

Saquon Barkley

Running Back, Penn State

If you ask anybody around college football, they will tell you the best overall player is Saquon Barkley. The running back for Penn State is quite the physical specimen, and runs the ball with authority. Barkley has the speed to leave the defense in the dust, as well as the power to run over anybody who tries to  take him down.

Barkley’s skill set was on display this past Saturday night, as he single-handedly helped the Nittany Lions to a come-from-behind victory. He has the talent to make plays out of the backfield in the passing game as well, making him an incredible threat on the offensive side of the ball. Sure, picking a running back No. 1 may sound like an uneducated pick, but Barkley could be a better pro than Ezekiel Elliott has been early on.

The Browns already have their quarterback of the future, and he is currently starting as a rookie for the team. DeShone Kizer has the skills to be a franchise quarterback, and Barkley would give him the ultimate weapon behind him in the backfield. Cleveland is building their team the right way, and Barkley is not only a great player, but an even better human being.
