Matt Forte on his partnership with Xfinity X1 and the CBS Sports fantasy app, an injury update and his thoughts on the volatile week in NFL.

New York Jets running back Matt Forte spoke with FanSided this week to talk about partnering with Xfinity X1 and their new partnership with the CBS Sports fantasy app.

But, before we got to that I had to ask Forte about all that is going on within the NFL regarding President Trump’s comments and the anthem protests.

Rather than asking Forte on his stance or what he chooses to do during the anthem, I asked him how his faith has played a role in helping him deal with the recent events from all sides.

“It’s been able to take a lot of pressure off me mentally thinking about it,” Forte said. “When I take the faith aspect into the question of whether to stand or kneel during the anthem and stuff, the answer, the real answer is, if you look through the bible it’s about love and unity. And that’s what we did as a team.”

Forte and the Jets decided as a team to stand and lock arms for the national anthem on Sunday.

“We felt like kneeling would continue to show divisiveness which is the opposite of what we want to happen and so as a team, we wanted to lock arms,” Forte said.

Moving on from NFL, Forte, who most recently teamed up with Comcast Xfinity X1 in promoting their new partnership with the CBS Sports fantasy app, told us what it’s about and why he hopped on board to promote it.

Essentially Xfinity X1 customers can now access the CBS Sports fantasy app through their television and access their lineup and players directly on the screen while watching the live games.

“It’s awesome and there’s nothing like it around,” Forte told FanSided. “It’s the best thing I think for fantasy. People who are hard-core fantasy players, you gotta get it because like I said, you can watch the game all in real-time and bring up the stats and check your team and also do your homework for the next upcoming game that you have in store.”

Forte praised the app calling it very user-friendly that can be easily controlled just by talking into the voice-activated remote.

Speaking of fantasy, if you have Forte on your team have no fear! Following a toe injury he sustained on Sunday, Forte said he’s taking it day-by-day but feels confident he will see the field this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
