2. Devontae Booker, Denver Broncos

Booker missed the first three games this season with a wrist injury, but he’s now ready to go for Week 4. The challenge though, will be finding snaps and touches in the Broncos’ backfield. C.J. Anderson enters the week sixth in the league in rushing (235 yards), and the ghost of Jamaal Charles is averaging 5.1 yards per carry so far and he scored a touchdown last week.

Booker had a very ordinary rookie season last year, averaging 3.5 yards per carry with 31 receptions in 16 games. But he also had double-digit carries just seven times, after proving he could handle a bigger workload over his two collegiate seasons at Utah (560 carries and 80 receptions over 23 games).

Booker may just need an opportunity to fully realize his potential, and he’s at a relative dead-end in Denver right now. He is not necessarily a star in the making, with the ability to overcome any shortcomings around him. But in the Packers’ offense Booker only has to be a functional, versatile cog out of the backfield, and their interest in trading for him would be easily explained if Montgomery is out for awhile.
