College Football Picks Against The Spread Late September 30, 2017

I had a solid week again in week 4 of the college football season. I am now 17 games above .500 on the season and 48 betting points to the good. Things are looking up, but there is a lot of college football left with conference play in full swing.

More from College Football Odds

For those of you that are new here, I put myself out there every week. For the last six years, I have picked every single college football game. Sounds easy, right? I thought so too. So I have picked them all against the spread. That significantly increases the degree of difficulty.

I take the average of the odds from the six major Vegas casinos and round that to the nearest half point. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football.

Some sites will sell you top ten picks for a fee. Some will even give you a couple of free picks to lure you in. This is every game picked, all for free.

This contains the picks for FBS vs. FBS games only. It is too hard to get an accurate spread on games that involve 1-AA teams.

I will assign a point value “bet” on each game, between one and five points. That way you can see just how confident I am in each pick. Look for those at the end of each line. I am up 27 points after the first two weeks so far.

I cannot be responsible for you losing any of your worldly possessions, significant others, or limbs to a loan shark. This is for entertainment purposes only! I am a simple person. I cannot have that on my conscience.

We are down to just 54 games this weekend. Only one game features a 1-AA team, so that means I have 53 games to pick, and most of them are conference tilts. This is when things start to get interesting! Our last 12 games of the week kick at 7:30 pm eastern or later. Let’s finish this week off right!

(11)Ohio State(-29.5) at Rutgers(1): I don’t trust any big line regarding the Buckeyes. More often than not, they don’t cover these. Especially on the road. But Rutgers is just…..bad. Give me the Buckeyes, I guess.

South Carolina at Texas A&M(-7.5)(3): I like South Carolina, but I just can’t justify betting on them anymore without Deebo Samuel. This offense has had a lot of issues moving the ball without his explosiveness. A&M has athletes all over the field, including the water boys and student managers. Aggies by double digits.

(2)Clemson(-7.5) at (12)Virginia Tech(3): This is too many. Clemson struggled for three quarters against Boston College last week. If they come out flat, they wont just lose. The Hokies have the ability to pull away in this one. For that reason, I think this stays a one score game. VT may not win outright, but they wont lose by two scores either.

(6)Washington(-26.5) at Oregon State(3): Too low. Oregon State is one of the worst power five teams right now, and the Huskies are finally living up to their potential. This is going to get ugly fast. Huskies by a lot!

(15)Oklahoma State(-10.5) at Texas Tech(3): Fasten your seatbelts! This is going to be a wild ride! The over on this line has jumped from 81 to 87. That is the highest one in the last three years with the exception of Oklahoma and Texas Tech last year. I’m comfortable betting the over and betting Tech at home here. This is going to be a wild one, and I doubt it’s a two score game.

Mississippi at (1)Alabama(-28.5)(2): This line opened at 28.5 and promptly fell to 28. It has been there for five days. I wouldn’t bet this game, but considering how Ole Miss has given Bama a loss in two of the last three years, Alabama isn’t going to let up here. Ole Miss is down, and Bama is going to kick them while they are. Roll Tide!

Nevada at Fresno State(-9.5)(1): No……just…..no. No one is winning this game by double digits. Give me Nevada.

Northern Illinois at (19)San Diego State(-9.5)(4): We can thank Nebraska for the line being this low. All the bettors see is NIU’s huge win in LIncoln. I’m telling you right now that SDSU could beat the Huskers in Lincoln as well. The Aztecs will pull away here.

San Jose State at UNLV(-14.5)(1): I realize that the Spartans are bad, but come on! I doubt UNLV could beat anyone by more than 14 right now. This is what my one point bets are for. Oh hell, it’s Vegas, right? Give me the Rebels. They at least scored on Ohio State…..

Colorado at UCLA(-7.5)(5): Easy money here! Come get your easy money! No way the worst defense in the Pac 12 can hold Colorado enough for UCLA to beat them by two scores. Colorado all the way!

California at Oregon(-15.5)(4): Seriously? USC couldn’t cover than on the Bears but Oregon can? I don’t buy it. Give me Cal.

Colorado State(-6.5) at Hawaii(2): Hawaii is better on the islands, but the Rams are one of the better teams to go out there in a while. I still like Colorado State.

Of the 53 games this week, I have ten one pointers, the most of the season so far. I do have 16 each of two and three pointers, so my betting success will likely be decided there. I have six four pointers and five five pointers, so I can come up with a huge week if I picked these right! Come back during the week to see how I did, and good luck out there!
