Taking a look at the best ESPN College GameDay signs from Week 5 of the season as the crew is in Blacksburg, VA for Clemson vs. Virginia Tech.
We’re entering Week 5 of the 2017 college football season, which signals a big time for many programs. That’s when big conference matchups are starting to take place. As such, that means that ESPN College GameDay is going to be there for those matchups. And on Saturday, they made sure that was the case as they set up shop in Blacksburg, VA ahead of the Clemson Tigers and Virginia Tech Hokies facing off.
Both ACC foes enter this game with an undefeated record. Dabo Swinney’s Tigers are the defending National Champions, but still have plenty of talent. The Clemson defense might be the best unit in the country, boasting the likes of Christian Wilkins and Clelin Ferrell. However the big question is if Kelly Bryant can maintain control of the offense.
The Tigers getting offense against this Virginia Tech team could be difficult. Justin Fuente has a nice team, bolstered by a great secondary. What’s more, the Hokies also have a promising quarterback in freshman Josh Jackson. If they can bring the heat on Bryant, Jackson is talented enough to make things intersting.
With such an intriguing matchup, it’s no wonder that College GameDay headed to Blacksburg. This could be a game that decides the fate of the ACC this season. What’s more, it could also have College Football Playoff implications. As such, this was a natural choice for ESPN.
