We’ve got a night game down south on Saturday night. Teeing off under the bright lights on September 30 will be the No. 25 LSU Tigers (3-1) and the Troy Trojans (3-1). Troy enters play at 3-1 (1-0) on the season. The Trojans have wins over the Alabama State Hornets, at the New Mexico State Aggies and over the Akron Zips. They lost their first game of the season on the road to the Boise State Broncos. With already a win in the Sun Belt over New Mexico State, it looks to be a good start for Troy, regardless of what happens in Baton Rouge on Saturday night.
LSU is 3-1 (0-1) on the season. The Tigers have wins over the BYU Cougars, the Chattanooga Mocs and the Syracuse Orange. However, the Bayou Bengals have lost their only conference game of the season in disastrous fashion to the then unranked Mississippi State Bulldogs in Starkville. A win over Troy would get the Tigers to four wins on the season before the calendar flips to October.
