Here’s how you can watch Saturday night’s MAC-Mountain West matchup between Northern Illinois and San Diego State.

The San Diego State Aztecs moved to 4-0 with 28-24 win over Air Force last Saturday, and the highlight of their undefeated start is a win over Stanford the previous week. The Aztecs are the No. 19 team in the country and have a darkhorse Heisman Trophy candidate in running back Rashaad Penny.

The Northern Illinois Huskies (2-1) are coming off a bye, but the high of an upset of over Nebraska the previous Saturday has surely not worn off. Quarterback Ryan Graham (elbow) will miss a third straight game though, and Daniel Santacaterina will get another start on Saturday night.

Per SportsBook Review, as could be expected, San Diego State is currently a 12-point favorite for Saturday night. The current over-under is set at 45.

Penny is (a somewhat distant) third in ESPN’s Heisman Watch rankings this week, behind Penn State running back Saquon Barkley and Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield. So containing him is obviously the key to any upset hopes for Northern Illinois, who enters the week with the 19th-ranked rush defense in the country (97.7 yards per game).

San Diego State is an early candidate from the Group of 5 conferences to make a run at a New Year’s Day bowl, with the win over Stanford as a big point in their corner right now. As long as no letdowns come, including a home loss to Northern Illinois and their backup quarterback this week, Rocky Long’s squad is at least on its way to a second-straight double-digit win season.
