Saquon Barkley is in Happy Valley trying to lock up the Heisman for good against Indiana

Following his insane performance last week in the thrilling win over Iowa, the consensus right now is that Penn State running back Saquon Barkley is the best player in the nation and the clear Heisman Trophy favorite at the moment. With the season still in the early stages here in September, however, the race is not locked up just yet — even though against Indiana on Saturday, Barkley is trying his best to have people make up their minds for good.

Barkley got the day started against the Hoosiers by returning the opening kickoff 98 yards to the house to give Penn State the quick 7-0 lead, once again making a statement that he is the best the country has to offer. But as we know, not all Heisman highlights are scoring plays. Sometimes, those highlights come in the form of some ridiculous plays that make your jaw drop even if they don’t go for a score.

Well, Barkley was able to check that box off against Indiana as well, we he just straight up palmed an errant swing pass from Trace McSorley and darted for some more yards down the middle of the field.

Again, the Heisman race is far from over, but with each passing week, Barkley is doing one hell of a job separating himself from the rest of the pack. There is still time in the season for others to catch up to him, but if he keeps up the performances like this, then there will be no doubt well before December who is getting that trophy.

We just all need to sit back and appreciate the greatness that is Penn State running back Saquon Barkley.
