The Tennessee football program is trying to regain composure after the crushing loss to Florida and near disaster against UMass, and Peyton Manning brought some of his swagger to the Vol Walk.

Tennessee football needs a big win against the No. 7 Georgia today, and to bring a little extra Vol power to the pregame festivities an old friend showed up for the Vol walk to help get Big Orange fired up for the game.

Former Volunteer great Peyton Manning made an appearance, flashing smiles and shaking hands as he walked through the raucous Tennessee crowd, and will be there to see his Vols try to get back on track against one of the best defenses in the nation.

Manning still has it, or at least he does in terms of fan appeal, as seen here in the video provided by Tennessee football’s official Twitter account.

Perhaps Manning is honing his handshaking and baby-kissing skills and working on his stumping for a potential run for public office (which has been rumored).

The Volunteers have a monumental task in front of them, as they have been wretched on offense in recent weeks. That doesn’t bode well when you are headed into battle against a team who just took high-powered Mississippi State to the woodshed in a 31-3 drubbing.

The favored Bulldogs rank 8th nationally in scoring defense, giving up only 11.5 points per game. A big challenge which might take a Peyton Manning-esque effort from by Tennessee quarterback Quinten Dormady.
