Week 5 of the college football season is in the books and there was no shortage of exciting play and solid post-game quotes.

The college football season is moving right along and if you were around for Saturday’s slate of games, you were probably disappointed. There weren’t many elite-level contests in Week 5, which was tough for some fans, but there were still some big conference matchups and upsets.

In fact, teams like Auburn and Mississippi State faced off for early-season bragging rights in the SEC. The Bulldogs were just two weeks removed from a 37-7 win over LSU before facing Auburn, but they had lost to Georgia in Week 4 by a wide margin. All confidence within Dan Mullen’s team seemed to be gone as Auburn came away with a 49-10 blowout.

Speaking of LSU, the Tigers lost in a shocking upset to Troy at home.

Another SEC contest that had plenty of eyes on it was Alabama vs. Ole Miss, but that, too, ended in a major blowout. The Crimson Tide have been playing angry this season and it showed once again versus the Rebels with a 66-3 win.

Alabama’s national title game opponent in each of the past two seasons, Clemson, took on No. 12 Virginia Tech as part of College GameDay’s featured matchup. The Tigers came away with the impressive road win.

As you could probably guess, there have been some interesting quotes from the week that was from coaches, and even Twitter accounts, of programs involved in upsets or big wins.
